Re: Fakes
Oh no ! yes they crop up all the time in the UK at provincial auctions. Usually dont sell at £300-500. I believe they were made by World Wide Arms in the 1970's. To a novice from photographs they can look convincing. Seems like a load of bidders have been conned.

This sword is up to almost £1000 on eBay. I’ve seen Items before from this seller. He always says he is selling for someone else and just lists items but has no knowledge of dates etc. His other items are a mix of genuine and modern copies. The odd thing is he doesn’t seem to have any negative feedback which means there are a lot of misguided people out there.

Re: Fakes
I messaged him and said it was a modern piece. He replied and said was I sure ? An identical sword sold in Herman’s for around 1300 euros. I told him I was certain. They are Indian copies and have been appearing in the U.K. for a number of years now. I also said that I knew what I was talking about as I worked as a Consultant for a major London auction house.
Needless to say, I got no reply to that and it sold for 1300 U.S. that’s £989 !
Of course, as he says he just sells for other people he takes no responsibility and no returns !

I really didn't think someone would try passing these off as authentic but here it is.
