Prussian 1845 Fascinemesser Markings

Post by James B » Sat Jun 29, 2019 7:21 pm

Hello,

Can anyone identify the regimental markings in the attached picture, I presume that the 'A' stands for Artillery as these were commonly used by them.

Following the previous logic does the 'F' stand for Foot, making this a Foot Artillery weapon of a 12th Brigade/Regiment?

The sword has the makers mark P.D.L. (P. D. Luneschoss) a Prussian manufacturer. It also has the Imperial crown marking.

Thanks for any help.

James

Members on SFI would have a good idea what the markings are.
