Tulwar
Any information/opinions /thoughts on this Tulwar most welcome. I know very little about them, Have been offered this one would welcome any thoughts on value, age etc Thanks R.

It looks to be a fine example in very good condition.
I would date it to the late 18th or early 19th century.
The koftgari gold decoration is nearly all there and the inscription is unusual and needs further investigation.
Without seeing the blade in person It looks pattern welded rather than a crucible steel one, all in all it’s a nice sword.
How much is the seller asking for it?

It belongs to a cousin, as I know very little about Tulwars ....... hence the post, what would you value it at ? He is looking to part with it and I need to make a fair offer.

To get an idea of value I suggest you look at some recent auction results. This will give you a good Idea of how the market is at the moment.
